ABOUT ME
My professional writing experience was inspired and birthed by the streets of Chicago. It was on those streets where strangers shared their stories with me, chinking away at the narrow walls of my worldview and igniting a craving in me to sit with people, to learn from them, and to write.
I was chief editor for a practicum that created space for pedestrians to name the hurt they had experienced through the church. I headed a project that explored the impact of wealth on one's ideology by interviewing residents of the Gold Coast, the most affluent area in the city. For my senior capstone project, I wrote a book made up of treasured reflections I had written over the years. These were the stories of the homeless community of Michigan Ave, who through countless sidewalk meetings had become my trusted friends, mentors, and teachers.
For me, to engage with, dignify, and learn from the people I interacted with was to write. Writing was my instinctive response to the truth I was experiencing as I walked side by side real humans - my friends - unjustly pushed to the margins by systems and individuals who chose to look away. I wrote to proccess, and I wrote because the mere humanity of these truths deserved to be known.
This conviction led me to the exciting opportunity to intern as a long-form journalist for a non-profit organization in Greece. As I independently navigated Athens, hunting for interviews with the marginalized and those working to come alongside them, I felt I had encountered the precise crux where beauty and pain collide. I was the privileged one who got to bring awareness to the dignity of that crux – that quality inherent to human life that existed with or without the affirmation of my written word.

I now write and manage marketing communications for Serve Globally, a team based in Chicago and made up of global partners local to over 25 countries. I am honored to broadcast the voices of local leaders all over the world as they transform and empower vulnerable communities through selfless and passionate ingenuity.
